An ode to domestic violence

In the silent and shiny kitchen
The expensive appliances, the dirty towels,
The fluorescent shimmer,
It's been 7:30 for a while now,
It's neither dark nor really bright.

She is sobbing in the corner,
Which doesn't really help her,
She can't stop nonetheless,
The children are not sleeping,
In their seperate rooms,
Wrapped in Carebear-blankets,
Pretending to be unaware,
Colliding echos resonating in their ears.

He is of on a glorious rampage,
A pedagogue celebrating,
The succes of his brawly style.
